Bam Nuttall are currently recruiting for a Community Engagement Coordinator to assist with our Argyll Projects in Scotland. Your work will enable the delivery of Social Mobility activity, Foundational Economy activity, and Social Inclusion activity. You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, to plan, promote, deliver, monitor and report on a range of initiatives and activities from our Social Sustainability Centre of Expertise (CoE), and in collaboration with members of the Social Sustainability team.

Your work environment
  • The role will involve a mixture of working from our offices, from home and on occasion from project sites. Hybrid flexible working arrangements are encouraged and actively supported.

  • This is a permanent full-time position.

Your mission
  • Lead the development of BAM volunteering documentation, processes, and Ambassador programme.

  • Support Enabling Services teams to identify and organise group volunteering events as requested

  • Work with BAM Learning team to support SLT to ensure e-learning modules on Safeguarding, and Social Sustainability are up to date

  • Engage with external partners/stakeholders as requested to support the work of Social Sustainability Enabling Service

  • Research and identify future partnerships/partners as required

  • Ensure a high level of understanding of Social Sustainability. Raising awareness and creating materials for clients, BAM staff, the wider workforce and supply chain as requested

  • Oversee the Social Sustainability Excellence Hub. Ensuring content is up to date and working in collaboration with SoSu team members to ensure timely review, update and upload of documents/ content

  • Collate relevant social value data and input into BAM’s Social Sustainability Reporting Tool

  • Support SSRT development, testing and adoption/ usage as requested

  • Able to use qualitative and quantitative data, to inform reporting as required

  • Collate Social Sustainability data for BAM Sustainability Index to meet monthly deadlines

  • Support any changes in BAMSI KPIs and communicate guidance and advice to Social Sustainability team, to enable project teams across BAM UK&I to adopt new social indicators when required

  • Support SoSu CoE with comms content, both internal and external

  • Engages in self-led learning to enhance knowledge, ensures best practice approaches and research insights are shared

  • Apply social value policies and procedures to work stream delivery, where involved

  • Review evidence and ensure documentation meets minimum business requirements

  • Supports delivery of marketing/ communications activity, feeding into communications plans associated with Enabling Service workstreams

  • Work with marketing/ communications to coordinate internal and external communication of social sustainability activity/programmes as required

  • Collaborates and engages as requested with various departments across the UK&I business to inform, and support delivery of Social Sustainability element of the Sustainability Strategy

  • Supports the development of new Social Sustainability materials and programmes, in response to project, regional, segment and UK&I priorities

Who are we looking for?
  • Ideally a degree-level qualification or equivalent

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Be highly competent in MS Suite – especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint 

  • Knowledge and experience in National TOMs and the Social Value Portal 

  • Previous experience in a similar role  

  • Driving Licence 

  • A good understanding of social research and an interest in how this contributes to wider societal change 

  • Able to work well, engage and contribute positively within a team environment 

  • A genuine passion for, and deep understanding of, social impact and an interest in innovation. Looking forwards at what needs to be done in the bigger picture to achieve meaningful social change 

  • Self-motivated, with strong organisational skills. Able to manage own time effectively in the context of having multiple projects, priorities and associated deadlines 

  • Experienced in strategic and impactful stakeholder management/ community engagement; managing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and partners 

  • A well-developed understanding of EDI and the Employment & Skills agenda 

  • Enthusiasm and ability to inspire, influence and engage a broad cross-section of stakeholders 

  • A willingness to travel regularly throughout UK&I and further as required, and ideally a full UK
