Job summary
Children's Rheumatology and Metabolic bone disorders service are rapidly growing at the Royal National Orthopaedic NHS Trust (RNOH). We are the national service for Children fibrodysplasia ossificans progressive (FOP), and world leaders in treating aneurysmal bone cysts (ABC).
These create an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated children's nurse with an interest in metabolic bone disorder to join our team as Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS). This role is fundamental to deliver safe and effective specialist care to Children, Young people and families that we serve.
Additionally, the Healthcare transition of young people is one of our key priorities to deliver quality standards of care and support National guidance.

Main duties of the job
The purpose of the post is to develop and drive forward safe, quality, effective, and compassionate care for Children and Young People (CYP) and families who access metabolic bone and fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP) care within Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH).
The post holder will become an integral part of the wider paediatric multidisciplinary team (MDT) team, includingpaediatric consultants specialising in metabolic bone disorders and a CYP Rheumatology Clinical Specialist Nurse. They will lead on CYP metabolic bone disorder care using evidence based clinical practices,in line with the current research, guidelines, and other available evidence.
The post holder will provide clinical assessment and management of CYP presenting with metabolic bone and rare bone conditions.
To provide specialist nursing care, incorporating aspects of education, research and management that is firmly grounded in direct clinical care provision to CYP and their families. Provide education on disease management for CYP and families, carers, teachers, and other healthcare professionals involved in their care.
The post holder will work effectively within multidisciplinary outpatient teams, and provide follow-up face to face, video and telephone consultations to CYP and families.
