Located in the heart of the Lancashire, Preston is a vibrant city with a rich history, beautiful landscapes, and a thriving cultural scene. Boasting a wide range of domestic buildings and commercial projects, Preston has something to offer any surveyor, whether you wish to focus solely on domestic surveying work in an urban or rural setting or manage a multitude of development sites across the construction spectrum within the city which is currently growing with many new and high-quality developments.

We have an opportunity for a General Level Senior Building Inspector to manage a varied portfolio providing expert advice and guidance to ensure that any work that is carried out complies with the Building Regulations and associated legislation.

You will need to provide a customer focussed building control plan checking and site inspection service for all our customers, and also provide support to the public protection function of the service, as and where required, including carrying out enforcement duties and dangerous structures work.

We offer hybrid working for these positions and although these posts are being advertised as full-time roles, we are a flexible employer and will consider applications from candidates who would prefer to work part-time or more flexibly.

To be successful you will be required to hold or be on the pathway to holding Registered Building Inspector status at Class 2 level (Category A-F). Class 2 Inspectors will have a professional Building Control Qualification (RICS, CABE or equivalent), Building Control experience with working knowledge of building regulations and legislation, excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong organisation and prioritising skills and a strong focus for service excellence.
