Job summary

To undertake and co-ordinate administrative / clerical duties according to Fertility Centre procedures, acting as first point of contact for relevant patients and members of the public contacting, or visiting the department, welcoming them with an understanding and sympathetic attitude.

To provide a range of support services to the Fertility Centre encompassing administrative and clerical duties to aid the smooth running of the unit.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be supervised by and accountable to more senior Administrative team leads present, or in their absence the operational lead for the Fertility Centre responsible for the shift.

The post holder will work with guidance from a variety of team members, but may also need to prioritise and initiate their own workload as appropriate.

Clerical experience in a busy Clinical environment In-depth experience of communication with the general public / patients

Previous experience of working with Fertility patients Knowledge of The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority and the associated clerical / administrative requirements Experience of using an electronic patient record / Patient Administration system Experience of an electronic patient consent package

Analytical and Judgement Skills

Basic literacy and numeracy skills Ability to analyse working environment, to resolve or escalate as appropriate. Ability to assess behaviors of service users and escalate to supervisory staff as needed
