Job summary

We're seeking a dynamic individual to join our Pharmacy Team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn as Lead Pharmacist for Surgery and Critical Care.

In this role, you will shape the future of patient care in surgery and critical care, implementing new ways of working and cutting-edge technologies to meet the evolving demands of our services in the Surgery Division.

You will be part of planning our new QEH. We look forward to bringing this state-of-the-art health care facility to King's Lynn and West Norfolk - which is nothing less than our patients, local communities and staff deserve.

Main duties of the job

Lead the Pharmacy Clinical Service to Surgery and Critical Care, working closely with the multidisciplinary team Lead the Pharmacy surgical team Lead medicines related improvement projects in the surgical directorate

Qualifications/training and professional development

Essential

Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent demonstrable experience Hold or willing to work towards independent prescribing qualification Registered as a pharmacist with The General Pharmaceutical Council

Desirable

Member of a clinical and/or professional organisation involved in pharmacy practice MSc in Clinical Pharmacy

Experience

Essential

Extensive post-registration experience with substantial hospital experience Extensive experience providing a pharmacy clinical service to patients in a range of surgical sub-specialities Experience in providing and evaluating pharmacy education & training including mentorship Experience of managing or supervising other staff Experience of implementing and/or reviewing policies, guidelines, PGDs or equivalent Evidence of on-going CPD

Skills, abilities, and knowledge

Essential

Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of healthcare professionals and patients Able to provide expert advice on the use of medicines to treat patients within a specialist area Able to manage difficult or ambiguous situations Able to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines Able to prioritise and manage workload Able to demonstrate an advanced level of reasoning and judgment
