Job overview

We are looking for a highly motivated person who would like to join our exciting team as a Patient Pathway Coordinators for the Haemato-Oncology service here at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. This is a substantive role which is full time (37.5 hours)however, we are also open to part time applicants . The successful candidate will be scheduling Outpatient appointments for that service, as well as monitoring that patient’s journey within that pathway.

We are looking for individuals with CRS Cerner Millennium knowledge and have job experiences of working in a busy, fast paced division. Experience of working in administrative offices is not essential but preferable.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of this post is to actively manage the administrative processes of patient pathways, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for patients throughout their treatment by the Trust. Also, to ensure and participate in providing an effective administration service to the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

GCSE A level or equivalent standard of Education AMSPAR or equivalent e.g. good level of medical terminology. ECDL or equivalent e.g. experience of a range of IT packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Medical secretarial/pathway administration experience.

Acts responsibly as a team member and seeks help if necessary. A proven record of being able to work within the timeframes working to priorities and deadlines. Able to monitor quality of own work and others. Ability to produce and present written reports and correspondence of a high calibre. Knowledge of and experience in the use of ICT Packages. Flexible approach to the planning and coordination of patient pathway to ensure maximum use of clinical time. The ability to plan and co-ordinate actively and changes to systems or standards.

Desirable criteria

Knowledge of national targets with respect to the patient pathway. A sound knowledge and demonstrable competence re 18-week referral to treatment rules.
