Position: Year 6 Behaviour Teaching Assistant.
Start Date: September 2024.
Type: Full-time, Term-time only.
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.

The Role: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Year 6 Behaviour Teaching Assistant to start in September 2024. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with behavioural needs, helping them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Year 6 teacher to support students with behavioural challenges.
  • Implement and monitor behaviour management strategies and individualised support plans.
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
  • Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to the teaching staff.
  • Promote positive behaviour and help students develop social and emotional skills.
  • Assist with classroom activities, including preparing materials and resources.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly with behaviour management.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s development and well-being.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or child development (desirable).
