Are you resilient, compassionate, and committed to supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join our team at [School Name], an SEMH specialist school in Chorley. As a Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students to provide the structure and support they need to succeed. Working 1:1 or in small groups to support students with challenging behaviors and SEMH needs
Implementing individual behavior management plans in line with school policies
Building positive, supportive relationships with students to foster trust and cooperation
Supporting classroom teachers in delivering tailored learning experiences
This role requires someone who is patient, empathetic, and has experience working with young people exhibiting challenging behaviors. A team player with strong communication skills, able to work closely with teachers, parents, and support staff
Passionate about supporting the social and emotional growth of young people
Previous experience working with challenging behaviors, ideally in an SEMH or SEN environment
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
Enhanced DBS clearance (we will assist in applying)
Qualifications in areas such as Teaching Assistance, SEMH, or Behavior Support
Training in behavior management or de-escalation techniques (e.g., All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
