Our Support Workers work in a variety of settings including community-based services (often supporting people in their own homes) to our Treatment & Recovery Centres. 

One thing that is common across all of our services is a focus on personalised support and tailoring our services to the needs and aspirations of the people we support with a diverse range of care needs (including Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Mental Health Concerns, Complex Care, Substance Misuse issues to name a few).

We don’t ask for any other relevant training or a previous career in care as full training will be provided – you just need a willingness to learn and develop.

Your pay  -  our Support Workers receive a rate of £ per hour for all worked hours. Once you are successful for a role with us, full details of your pay will be included in your written offer.

Where is this vacancy based?
This vacancy is based in Wistaston, Crewe.

Who do you support?
We support 2 gentlemen and 1 lady, aged between 60 and 75. They have learning disabilities and 1 gentleman has additional mental health needs, and the lady needs assistance with hoisting as she needs the support to transfer into her electric wheelchair. All 3 individuals have good communication skills, the lady uses British sign language as well as verbal communication

Where do they live?
Detached 4 bedroom bungalow in a cul de sac, with a lovely enclosed garden, it is close to a local bus route, and 10 minutes drive to the local train station.

What would a typical shift be like?
To support each person with their routines, personal care, bathing, dressing using track hoists, promoting independence/skills, communication, supporting with there meals throughout the day. supporting with activities in the community, pubs, walks, cafes, shopping, day trips, and in house activities, games, art and crafts, gardening,

What activities do the people that we support at this property like to do?
Trips out to the seaside, using trains and buses. One lady has a car, visits to see family, gardening, shopping, meals out to pubs, cafes, picnics, listening to music, watching tv, games, art and crafts

Are there any skills or interests that a candidate could have that would be great to use to support this service?
Driver is desirable, good communication skills, sense of humour, good cook, able to work within a team, able to be positive and promote independence and develop new skills for the people we support.

What is the team here or is it lone-working?
Some lone working but only when all training is completed, usually working with a team of support workers, either 2 or3 in the day time and 1 sleep in staff at night, there is a team leader on call at all times.

What are your shift patterns?
Day shifts from to , 8am-6pm, 3pm-8pm, these can vary sleep in
