Stafford Health & Wellbeing is looking for an experienced PracticeManager to manage and join our friendly enthusiastic team.
Main duties of the job
Working collaboratively with thePartnership to provide overall leadership and management skills to enable thepractice to meet its agreed aims and objectives. Bringing energy to ourstaffing and patient experience, helping to create a profitable, efficient,safe and effective working environment.
About us
The practiceclinically comprises of 7 GPs (2 GP Partners and 5 Salaried GPs), AdvancedNurse Practitioners, Physician Associate, Clinical Pharmacist, 3 PracticeNurses a Health Care Assistant and Phlebotomist. With a supportive administrativeteam.
Currently have an increasing list size of 13,128 patients, based in anew modern/purpose built GP Surgery within the Northfields Health Village,Stafford.
The Practice has an established reputation for GP training, MedicalStudents and Research Studies.
Job description
Job responsibilities
Prepare and annually update the practicebusiness development plan, driving forward the implementation of its aims andobjectives.
Monitor and evaluate performance of thepractice team against objectives identify and manage positive change.
Develop and maintain effective communicationboth within the practice and with relevant outside agencies
Ensure the business continuity plan &disaster recovery procedures are continually operational.
Co-ordinate meetings, including thepreparation of agendas, minutes and action points to drive change.
Develop Practice protocols and foradministrative procedures. Review and update as required.
Manage & oversee the recruitment andretention of all staff and provide a general personnel & team management/HRservice to all staff.
Ensure that all members of staff are legallyand gainfully employed.
Monitor skill-mix, staff efficiency anddeployment of staff.
Manage staffing levels within target budgets.
Oversee staff payroll, including pensions.
Oversee staff induction and staff trainingand ensure that all staff are adequately trained to fulfil their role.
Ensure all staff follow and adhere topolicies, standards and guidelines.
Oversee all annual leave systems and studyleave systems.
Develop & implement effective staffabsence monitoring systems, back to work interviews & staff supportprocedures.
Develop and implement effective staffappraisal, personal development plans (PDP) and monitoring systems.
Support and mentor staff, both as individualsand as teams to maximise staff morale and efficiency.
Implement effective systems for theresolution of disputes and grievances.
Keep abreast of changes in employmentlegislation.
Ensure up-to-date HR documentation &systems (including job descriptions, employment contracts and employmentpolicies & procedures).
Ensure contractual reporting systemsincluding the NHS Workforce Survey.
Use technology appropriately to support HRsystems and maximise efficiency.
Arrange appropriate indemnity and locuminsurance cover.
Liaise with partners on staff development.
Take overall responsibility for themanagement and resolution of all significant events & complaints.
Strategic oversight and understanding of thePractice Finances in order to drive change
Understanding of the practice accounts,current income streams & expenditure. Keep abreast of contract and legislation changes and new fundingopportunities.
Maintain an upto date knowledge of Health & Safety.
Support equality, diversity and rights of patients, carers and colleagues.
Work effectively with individuals in other agencies to meet patient needs.
Effectively manage own time, workload and resources

Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent with grade C or above in English Evidence of a commitment to continuing professional development Excellent keyboard skills experience of using Microsoft office Word, Excel
