Graduate SEND Teaching Assistant – Salford and Bolton (Supporting Students with SEN, Including ASD and PMLD)

Teaching Personnel is working closely with several schools in Salford and Bolton, and there's a high demand for Graduate Teaching Assistants to provide vital support to pupils with SEND. This role offers an invaluable learning experience for graduates seeking hands-on experience in education, special needs support, and child development.

About the Role:
  • Salary: £84+ per day through PAYE (no umbrella company or agency fees)
  • Schedule: Full-time roles (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm); part-time roles are also available
  • Payment: Weekly pay on a timesheet basis through Teaching Personnel
  • Location: Opportunity to work in various schools across Salford and Bolton, supporting multiple year groups
  • Start Date: Immediate start, after registration with Teaching Personnel
  • Long-Term Opportunity: Some candidates may move onto permanent school contracts after a successful trial period
Key Responsibilities:
  • 1:1 and Group Support: Provide tailored support to students with a variety of SEND needs, including ASD, PMLD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Assist Learning: Help students with different learning requirements in both classroom and one-on-one settings, ensuring they engage with and understand the curriculum.
  • Develop Independence: Foster students' communication, social, and life skills, helping them build confidence and independence.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and other support staff to implement individual learning plans (IEPs) and ensure each student’s needs are met.
  • Create a Positive Environment: Support the creation of a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere where students with SEND can thrive academically and emotionally.
