JOB REQUIREMENTS

Prysmian's business is the area of the High Voltage (HV) business dedicated to providing specialist technical services to a wide range of customers. Our ENS business operates a team of engineers, cable jointers and fluid technicians and our 24-hour call out rota system couples with our emergency hotline to ensure that we can provide a response 24 hours a day. 
 

We are currently looking for a Degree Apprentice Project Engineer to work regionally and reporting to the local Area Manager for the region they will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of a range of activities on installation projects and maintenance services throughout the region. 

You will work towards a Project Manager Degree at Level 6 over 3 years to include the End Point Assessment.

The position will cover, but not be limited to, the following duties:

Supporting projects to ensure that all work is carried out safely, competently and effectively achieving scope, programme and budget. Identifying and promoting commercial opportunities. Actively monitoring civil engineering activities and Prysmian installation staff allocated to the site in order to efficiently complete projects. Reviewing and monitoring projects using MS Project. Liaison between head office, customer, sub-contractors and site based employees. Ensuring compliance to safety, environmental, quality and security procedures. Promote a culture of safety, quality and environmental best practice at all times by means of effective communication and site audits. Requisition and control project materials. Liaise internally and externally to ensure all targets and key milestones are met and ensure all works are carried out to company procedure

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Have two subjects at GCE A-level or equivalent, plus three GCSEs at grade A*-C /9-4; OR a completed recognised Access Programme or equivalent. Have proficiency in the English language if any prior learning has not previously been taught in English (IELTS6.0 / TOEFL iBT 80 or equivalent) Be a UK/EU/EAA resident for at least three years prior to starting the apprenticeship A basic level of computer literacy. A driving licence is essential

This position benefits from a flexible working arrangement; 25 days holiday in addition to Bank Holidays; a health cash plan scheme.
 

Location

This role requires regular travel in the Midlands and Wales areas and candidates will be working from the Stourport site and other installation sites within the region.
 

The Stourport site is based at Prysmian Cables & Systems Limited, Wilden lane, Stourport, DY13 9JY. Free parking is available at the offices. Kidderminster is the closest rail station.
