About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Maintenance Engineer - Apprentice to join our team at Biffa Waste Services. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and fault-finding exercises to identify and rectify issues promptly.
  • Develop and implement a program of planned preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and improve overall efficiency.
  • Liaise with external contractors to ensure seamless execution of maintenance tasks.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in health and safety legislation and company policies to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Review maintenance activities and implement corrective actions as required.

Requirements:

  • Engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic qualifications.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Maintenance Engineer or similar role in a similar environment.
