Design Engineer - Stourport-on-Severn - Salary: upto £32,000 (DOE)
My client: a manufacturing company is seeking a Design Engineer to join their expanding team in Stourport-on-Severn
The Design Engineer would be an ideal role for a technically competent mechanical engineer with a focus on design and development and project management.
Responsibilities:
* General arrangement and detail drawings in AutoCAD/ Solidworks.
* Generate creative ideas/solutions, and work with those of others, to move the company’s products forward.
* Create, draw and contribute concept ideas for new products and for existing product improvements.
* Deliver successful new product developments on time and on budget.
* Adherence to the company’s product development procedures and completion of required documents.
* To arrange manufacture of prototypes through the in house factory or external suppliers and be present and instrumental in their build and test.
* To co-ordinated testing of prototypes to ensure they fulfil the design brief and to document such tests
* To also engage and work with sub contract designers as and when required.
The Candidate
* You will be experienced in using AutoCAD and SolidWorks,
* Mechanical Engineering qualification (HNC or above)
* Competent in design and development and able to produce drawings and models of both existing and new products.
* Experience in developing new skills and contributing concept ideas for new products, also building and testing new products.
* Any hands on, practical assembly experience would be advantageous to have appreciation for the production processes
