Morgan Technical Ceramics Stourport specialises in medium to high volume production of technical ceramic components. This facility is a market leader in Precision Pump Components, Injection Moulding & Extrusion.

The technical department is looking for a student to complete a summer vacation project in relation to completing our annual evaluation of key ceramic materials manufactured here on site and compare measured data / performance to previous evaluation results / material datasheet properties.

**Responsibilities**:
**Principal Objectives**:

- Prepare and test ceramic material samples to measure / understand a range of mechanical and material property data to ensure that current production materials are to current datasheet specification.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to prepare and accurately measure material properties.
- Record, collate and present experimental data for analysis. Where possible make recommendations for conclusions or further work.
- Write up project report.
- Adhere to a 6S method of working ensuring a well-organised, safe, neat and tidy working environment.
- Maintain laboratory equipment whilst completing project work.
- Carry out routine cleaning and maintenance on equipment within the Laboratory.

Qualifications:
**Qualifications Required**:

- IT literate and competent in using Microsoft Excel and Word
- Undertaking a further education degree course in a material science or technical.

**Skills and Attributes**:

- Have a genuine interest in science and engineering and product or process development.
- Must be interested in a practical, hands on role.
- Able to work as part of a team.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Must have a high attention to detail.
- Able to work diligently, accurately and safely.
- Persistent, energetic and adaptable to achieve objectives.
- Be flexible and adaptable; able to manage varied working.
- Organised and consistent.
