Job summary
The PCN PharmacyTechnician will work under the supervision of a Clinical Pharmacist and as anintegrated part of the primary care team to ensure the safe, accurate andtimely supply of prescribed medication to patients. The role will contribute tosuccessful clinical management of patients and is shared across the PCN.
Main duties of the job
The keyresponsibility of a PCN Pharmacy Technician is to ensure there is a centralised,safe and effective medicines optimisation process across PCN practicesincluding:
1. Repeat prescribing and repeat dispensing processes:
a.ImplementPCN repeat prescription process: repeat interval for LTC and CD, read code forAMBER 3 and enter hospital only drug
b.Agreeprocess for appliance requests stoma, continence, dressings and ACBSproducts
c.Electronicrepeat dispensing (eRD) champion: support staff training and work withcommunity pharmacy
2. Patient safety:
a.Runsearches and action MHRA CAS alerts
b.Supportpatient queries related to medicines
c.Refercomplex medicines queries to pharmacist/nurse/GP
3. Quality improvement projects and clinical audits:
a.Identifypatients suitable for virtual clinics to support QIPP implementation
b.Identifypatients who have not been issued anticoagulant/lithium/steroid/antiplateletcards and ensure read code into the notes
4. Health Innovation Network (HIN) Project BP@home, lipidmanagement
a.Identifypatients and risk stratify using UCLP search templates on EMIS
b.Contactpatients for up to date home BP if available

Greenwich PCN Alliance is formed of 4 PCNs across Greenwich, Blackheath and Charlton PCN, Eltham PCN, Heritage PCN and Unity PCN. A successful candidate will be allocated to one PCN and will work across that PCN only. At Greenwich PCN Alliance we are committed to the development of ARRS roles
