Pharmacy Technician

About the Role
The Greenwich PCN Alliance is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective supply of prescribed medication to patients across our PCN practices.
Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Technician, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Medicines Optimisation
a. Implement repeat prescribing and repeat dispensing processes, ensuring a centralised, safe, and effective medicines optimisation process across PCN practices.
b. Agree processes for appliance requests, stoma, continence, dressings, and ACBS products.
c. Champion electronic repeat dispensing (eRD) and support staff training, working with community pharmacy.
2. Patient Safety
a. Run searches and action MHRA CAS alerts to ensure patient safety.
b. Support patient queries related to medicines and refer complex queries to pharmacist/nurse/GP.
3. Quality Improvement Projects and Clinical Audits
a. Identify patients suitable for virtual clinics to support QIPP implementation.
b. Identify patients who have not been issued anticoagulant/lithium/steroid/antiplatelet cards and ensure read code into the notes.
4. Health Innovation Network (HIN) Project, Lipid Management
a. Identify patients and risk stratify using UCLP search templates on EMIS.
b. Contact patients for up to date home BP if available.
About Us
The Greenwich PCN Alliance is a collaborative partnership of 4 PCNs across Greenwich, Blackheath, and Charlton, Eltham, Heritage, and Unity. As a successful candidate, you will be allocated to one PCN and will work across that PCN only. We are committed to the development of ARRS roles and offer a supportive and dynamic work environment.
