Salford, United Kingdom Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Job summary

Due to a maternity leave, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and skilled Physiotherapist to join our Neurosurgical therapy team for a 12 month period.

We are looking for a motivated, dedicated and innovative individual who is eager to expand their knowledge in the field of neurology and more specifically neurosurgery, who has a passion for assessing and treating complex neurological patients. You would see a variety of patients and lead by example with your passion for improving clinical outcomes and care provision. This is a really exciting time for our service as we continue to develop and implement change, innovation and service delivery.

Main duties of the job

You will manage a highly complex caseload of patients as a specialist in the holistic assessment of the needs of neurosurgical patients during their inpatient admission. Additionally, you will have significant experience in the management of patients with tracheotomies.

You will be required to deliver training in your own discipline, as well as contribute to the training of other disciplines within the team. You will be an integral participant of the service development, audit and QI initiatives.

You will need to be an excellent team player; good leadership skills and significant experience of supervising staff /students are essential criteria. You should have demonstrable post registration experience, ideally working at a Band 6 level, in both acute and community Neurosurgical or neurological settings.

You will be expected to contribute to the weekend working service at Salford Royal Hospital and the on-call respiratory service.

We place a large focus on team development, creating a safe and supportive environment and work to the Trust Values at all times. You will be well supported by the Operational/Professional Lead, the Lead PTs and the Lead therapists in the service and the wider Physiotherapy workforce.

Don't miss this opportunity to be part of a large, friendly and supportive team with all the benefits of working for an Outstanding Trust.
