Job Description: We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced English Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive secondary school in Wimborne. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons to students aged 11-18, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective English lessons to students in Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Develop and implement schemes of work in line with the National Curriculum and examination board specifications.
- Create a classroom environment that encourages positive behaviour and active engagement in learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in departmental meetings to contribute to the continuous improvement of the English department.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other stakeholders to support student achievement and well-being.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to enrich the school community.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A relevant degree in English or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching English at secondary school level, preferably including Key Stage 5.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English literature and language.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues.
