Job summary
:To act as the first point of contact for managers within the pathway for delivering HR advice. To work with a range of personnel, partners and stakeholder, including staff side/unions to ensure that best practice HR is delivered in line with national and local strategy and plans.
To provide a deputy role to the Medical Staffing Manager in respect of all aspects of medical staff recruitment, contract administration, processing of new rotas to meet the requirements of the European Working Time Directive and New Deal for Doctors, advice on HR issues.
To provide an effective medical HR advice service for Service Managers, Doctors in Training, Consultant, Staff and Specialist grades and Trust grade doctors.
To give specialist advise on deanery trainee funding, and effects of changes in training on service cover within the Organisation.
To oversee and to supervise the Recruitment and HR Assistants in the provision of the recruitment for your specific clinical area of responsibility.
To provide a comprehensive and efficient administrative service to support the medical staffing process in the HR Department.
To provide advice and support with complex Less Than Full Time Trainee (LTFT) rotas between the department, rota co-ordinator and trainee ensuring training and contractual requirements are met.
To take responsibility for specific projects and initiatives as required

Education & Qualification
Essential
5 GCSEs or equivalent Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel or equivalent Degree level or previous relevant experience CIPD Level 3 or equivalent experience
Experience & Knowledge
Essential
Knowledge of HR systems and procedures acquired through NVQ or equivalent experience A comprehensive knowledge of NHS Jobs and Electronic Staff Record MS Word and Excel competence
Desirable
Previous experience of Allocate Software Knowledge of Medical Staff Terms and Conditions inc salary scales Understanding of bank and agency usage
