Job overview

We are looking for an experienced Clinical Pharmacist with a special interest Haematology to join our Oncology Pharmacy team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospitals. 

It is an exciting time to come and work with us as we are expanding our services to support primary care, working with GP practices and other partners across our health and care system. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who enjoys the challenge of working in a busy multidisciplinary environment and who can demonstrate great project initiative and excellent communication skills to both patients and other healthcare professionals.

This position is on a fixed term contract for 1 year.

Main duties of the job

You will be a team player with significant clinical experience as a registered pharmacist who is also an independent prescriber (or working towards) with excellent interpersonal skills. Experience in delivering pharmaceutical services to patients within a specialist area or delivering a clinical project with meticulous attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

B.Pharm / BSc (Pharmacy) or MPharm Higher degree / Postgraduate Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice, or equivalent experience Clinical Diploma or equivalent qualification or demonstrable equivalent clinical experience Demonstrates continued professional development Member of relevant national specialist group and plays an active role Qualified or working towards qualification as a pharmacist independent prescriber

Desirable criteria

Leadership and/or management qualifications MSc in clinical pharmacy or higher research degree (MPhil or PhD) Postgraduate qualification in Haematology or similar Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) Member of British Oncology Pharmacy Association To hold evidence of practice at advanced stage II, as part of the RPS Advanced Pharmacy framework, or to be working towards credentialing

Experience

Essential criteria

Extensive previous hospital Pharmacy experience Extensive experience of delivering clinical pharmacy service to patients within Haematology Able to demonstrate in -depth pharmaceutical skills and knowledge within the speciality. This will include provision of highly specialist review and advice relating to the safe use of medicines. Expert knowledge of national policy, strategy, guidance and evidence -base relating to the speciality Broad knowledge base of a wide range of clinical areas

Publication of audit/research/clinical work at national level Experience of working actively on national groups Experience of line management and mentoring Experience of leading and delivering a clinical pharmacy service to a directorate / cluster of services Experience of excellent leadership and management skills
