Job Overview

This fantastic opportunity has become available at Southern Water. The Senior Future Growth Planner role leads a team of Future Growth Planners in engaging with local planning authorities and developers on their housing growth needs. This engagement can entail external/internal stakeholder meetings, handling enquiries in relation to water & wastewater provisions during the planning process and working with SWS service partners on service delivery. This is an extremely rewarding and varied role, where no 2 days are the same.

Leading a team of Future Growth Planners, providing coaching and guidance to enable the team to perform their roles effectively and in line with performance targets.  Proactive engagement with local authorities, developers and other stakeholders to help Southern Water plan for the future. Where applicable, working with local authorities to influence planning policy that promotes sustainable development and allows for the occupancy of developments to be phased in line with upgrades to our infrastructure. Ensuring customer satisfaction, resolving issues and escalations and ensuring that services provided meet the needs of the customer. Manage the relationship with our service partners for application management, ensuring they are up to date with business & regulatory policies and procedures. Support our continuous improvement culture by leading water and waste growth performance hubs and product improvement suggestions. Ensure the team have the necessary training and technical/regulatory guidance and that any associated documents are updated.

About You

We are looking for a person with excellent interpersonal, communication and engagement skills; self-motivation, resilience and adaptability are also important qualities for this role, as well as being a self-starter.

You will have in-depth planning experience, appreciating the needs of developers and infrastructure companies such as water companies. Previous line management experience is essential. You will have excellent stakeholder engagement skills and be able to develop and sustain good working relationships, including effective liaison across internal teams Hold a Degree in Science, engineering, town planning (or equivalent) Flexibility and independence with an ability to contribute to overcoming problems and develop creative solutions Research skills, able to bring together a range of information to contribute to a clear plan Interpersonal skills to create strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders

Package

This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working between our Durrington office and home. We are offering a salary of up to £52,500 per annum depending on skills and experience as well as other benefits including:
