Reporting to the Administration Service Lead, and supported by Senior Administrators and Clinical Support Officers. The post will be based at the University Hospital of North Tees but may require cross site cover with the University Hospital of Hartlepool dependent on service need. The role will be situated within the Flexible Administration hub, part of the Healthy Lives Administration Department The post holder will work to a shift pattern which will include some weekend working depending on the needs of the service The opening hours for the Healthy Lives Administration Service are: Monday to Friday - Weekends and Bank Holidays 08:00 - 20:00 where applicable Undertake a full range of administrative support tasks, both within clinical administrative departments and on ward and clinic areas as and when required in line with service needs and priorities. Be fully conversant with and adhere to all work related policies, procedures and guidelines, ensuring that all work outputs are completed as required and that all related targets and timescales are met. Use all appropriate technologies and equipment to their optimum functionality to assist in the provision of an efficient, effective and comprehensive administrative service to support the provision of care to patients.

Qualifications & Training

Essential

NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration (or equivalent) NVQ Level 2 in Customer Care (or equivalent) GCSE at grade C or above in Mathematics Key Skills at level 2 in Numeracy (or equivalent) GCSE at grade C or above in English Language, or Key Skills at level 2 in Literacy (or equivalent)

Desirable

IT qualification (ITQ at level 2 or equivalent)

Experience

Essential

Demonstrable experience of undertaking clerical work / reception cover in a people focused / healthcare environment. Demonstrable experience of data input involving the use of computerised systems and technologies. Able to demonstrate experience of undertaking transcription work using digital transcription systems / typing skills Good working knowledge of IT and Windows based computer systems and have experience of using Microsoft Office applications. Proven experience in delivering a range of administration tasks to a high standard.

Desirable

Experience of working within a healthcare environment Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team Knowledge of medical terminology Knowledge of NHS administrative procedures.

Demonstrate ability to pay good attention to detail, reliably check and record data and identify anomalies and be able to self-check completed work.
