An exciting opportunity to join the team at Basis Yorkshire as a Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Specialist. You will be providing bespoke trauma informed 1-1 and group work for Young People who have experienced, who are experiencing or who are at risk of sexual exploitation. 

To provide trauma informed support to  young people who  are at risk of, are experiencing or have experienced sexual  exploitation and abuse.  Working as part of the  Basis Young People’s Service  you  will  be supporting young people  to  overcome  trauma  and  complex  emotions,  empowering  to  build  positive social  networks  and  building  on  strengths  through  exploring  their  options.  You will  also support young people to  access  the  Criminal  Justice  System  should  they  wish  to  do  so,  enabling them  to stay  safe  and  bringing  perpetrators  to  justice.

The Postholder will be responsible for ensuring that young people on their caseload with varying needs are supported effectively throughout their pathway of support with Basis and partners, advocating for and with the young people you are working with. The worker will work with and adhere to relevant statutory and local frameworks and multi-agency partnerships relevant to the support of victims of Sexual Exploitation. The postholder will play a key role in advocating for improved responses to Sexual Exploitation and Transitional Safeguarding, working with the Service Delivery Manager and wider Basis Team in developing and promoting best practice for supporting young people with experience of Sexual Exploitation within and outside of the organisation.
