SEN Teaching Assistant

Cover People are working in partnership with a Good mainstream secondary school in Wythenshawe, who are looking to employ an SEN Teaching Assistant for their SEN department. A warm and welcoming secondary school in a desirable location with excellent transport links. The school has excellent provision, with a vast number of resources to help you and the pupils that you’ll be supporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Help create a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Work alongside the teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop effective strategies for students.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, help them to overcome challenges

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEND needs is highly desirable.
  • Desire to work in mainstream secondary schools
  • Passion and drive to help impact the lives of the children around you
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • Commitment to promoting an inclusive and positive learning environment.
  • Previous experience working within a school for 6 weeks+.
