Numeracy Intervention Teaching Assistant - Wythenshawe (M22)

A ‘Outstanding’-rated primary school in Stockport has begun working with Teaching Personnel to satisfy the need for a Numeracy Intervention Teaching Assistant. This role would involve working throughout the Key Stages One and Two in order to provide groupand one-to-one numeracy interventions. Responsibilities would include:

- Small-group work with lower-ability pupils preparing for their SATs
- Building on basic skills in Literacy and Maths in Year 2
- Supporting lower-ability pupils develop their understanding in preparation for SATs exams and secondary school
- Working one-to-one with lower-ability pupils
- Offering group work with higher-ability pupils to ensure they are working to their full potential
- One-to-one work with some children struggling with behaviour
- Building upon a tailored behavioural plan to keep pupils engaged with numeracy work
- One-to-one sessions covering specific topics that SEN, SEMH and EAL pupils struggled to understand in class

Therefore, the Teaching Assistant must be comfortable working closely with all primary-aged children and be familiar with the appropriate safeguarding measure this role involves. Experience with behavioural management would be beneficial, and HLTAs are encouragedto apply.

**Requirements**:

- Teaching Assistant experience
- A strong understanding of the primary Maths curriculum
- Recent Safeguarding training (this can be provided by Teaching Personnel)
- Experience with behaviour
- HLTAs preferred

About the role:

- £70-85 per day through PAYE (no umbrella company or agency fees)
- Weekly pay on timesheets
- Primary School located in the Wythenshawe area (M22)
- Easily accessible by bus or tram
- Full-time role, Monday-Friday
- Opportunity to work with small groups of students and offer one-to-one support
- Immediate start following registration with Teaching Personnel

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
