WHAT TO EXPECT

The role will work with the whole of the JLR business including internal and external stakeholders where appropriate and will have exposure to the key areas and stakeholders that influence vehicle development. The successful candidate will be required to work with cross functional teams including: Programmes, Prototype Build, Attributes, Marketing and Manufacturing to deliver their vehicle. It will require leadership of these cross-functional teams to resolve major complex issues that may arise during the Creation, Development and Validation phase of the Engineering.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Lead the integration of vehicle attribute delivery in the form of robust vehicle test & development strategies & execute against the plans with the support of attributes, test teams, engineering functions & build teams; Own overall vehicle development & sign-off plan & status (RMDV), reporting out in escalation or sign off forums; Lead the team to consolidate and review the physical product test requests & justification (rigs, vehicles & their specs) to develop an optimised prototype test plan Lead the T&D team to manage the plan through the programme life cycle, proactively responding to challenges which could impact vehicle milestones and stakeholders DV plans. Escalating issues to senior leadership as required. Lead the T&D team managing prototype vehicle, tooling and consumables/spares budgets. Including Rigs and Test kits activities- creating the requirements list in conjunction with vehicle users, supporting financial approval reviews, and ensuring the route to order/ delivery meets DV timing in conjunction with the Programme Manager

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Experience leading vehicle test & development teams Experience of full vehicle attribute definition and development  Technical knowledge and experience of key vehicle systems and whole vehicle engineering The ability to achieve results in a proactive and efficient manner, making effective use of all resources available within the company and outside A working knowledge of prototype build operations roles
