Position Overview:

As an Electrical Testing Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for developing comprehensive testing strategies for vehicle systems, assisting in the planning of tests, reviewing feature specifications, collaborating on the creation of test scenarios, executing test procedures, generating testing documentation, monitoring defect reports, and aiding in troubleshooting efforts, including root cause analysis. This role involves managing the defect lifecycle and evaluating the defect management process. The position will primarily be on-site with opportunities for hybrid work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize effective communication skills to engage with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison to the test manager, test engineers, integration engineers, and commodity owners within your program area (e.g., Sports cars, SUVs, Special Vehicles).
  • Oversee coordination and planning of tests, including estimation and evaluation of test entry criteria.
  • Lead the development and execution of test cases, assess exit criteria, and manage test closure activities and documentation.
  • Conduct thorough reviews, including test case evaluations and test result assessments.
  • Manage defect processes, including analysis, reporting, and prioritization of issues.
  • Oversee test asset management and inventory control.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of testing processes.
  • Participate in meetings, representing the test team in discussions regarding vehicle and lab car electrical defects and concerns, as well as in daily status updates and cross-functional meetings.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in electrical testing across multiple systems, such as body electronics, powertrain, chassis, and networks.
  • Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), lab car, and vehicle testing methodologies.
  • Proficient in VTestStudio and CAPL programming.
  • Experience in system integration engineering and software delivery processes.
  • Knowledge of automotive pre-production build environments.
  • Experience in electrical engineering support for vehicle fleets, including issue identification and resolution.
  • Understanding of software and feature fault diagnosis.
  • Experience collaborating within cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to create and modify test requirements using a requirements management tool.
  • Demonstrated capability in vehicle analysis utilizing Vector tools (e.g., CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape).
  • Familiarity with functional safety and cybersecurity principles.
  • Experience in developing test setups, including rigs and lab cars.
  • Proven ability to reverse engineer and formulate system/customer test cases.
  • Experience in resource and test planning within project frameworks.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of vehicle ECU configuration and coding.
  • Experience with diagnostic routines and documentation of services.
  • Familiarity with Polarion (requirements management tool).
  • Comprehensive understanding of automotive quality tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of automotive product development systems and project management, including documentation from concept to launch.
  • Proven ability to conduct and lead electrical testing activities.
  • Experience managing outsourced projects and supplier relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including effective escalation and reporting.
  • Relevant engineering degree.
