We are looking for a Shipping Officer to join our Supply Chain team within our Currency division.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating the international shipments of all raw material and finished goods. The role holder will ensure that logistics services are carried out in compliance with applicable international regulations, laws and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and coordinating international shipments of raw material and finished goods with approved freight forwarders, in accordance with the Shipping forecast and business requirements
- Raise shipping documentation in line with customer and destination country requirements
- Update the shipping planner on receipt of confirmed movement details
- Obtain and verify freight quotes for air, ocean & land freight and air charters from approved vendors
- Coordinate and issue customs clearance forms for imports and follow up on receipting customs documentation from freight forwarders and couriers to ensure compliance with audit requirements
- Check & present documents in accordance with Letters of Credit requirements
- Ensure the business is importing & exporting in accordance with UK legislation
Contract type: Permanent
Working hours: Full Time – 36.5 hrs per week
Base location: Basingstoke
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working with Imports and Exports in a manufacturing environment
- Experience handling Air, Road and Sea Freight shipments
- Good knowledge of Incoterms standards
- Letter of credit knowledge (desirable)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office
