Team Leader - Safeguarding (Kingston)

This is an opportunity for a Team Leader position within the Safeguarding Kingston Team. This role will require a professional with substantial management and complex court experience. They would assist with the development and management of complex cases, providing effective and robust support to the team.

About the role

The purpose and responsibilities of the Team Leader role will include:

Providing operational management and leadership support across the service geographical areas supporting the Head of Safeguarding when required.  Managing Senior Practitioners and Social Workers. Providing support and guidance within a Safeguarding Service.

About you

To be an Team Leader, you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following points:

Significant social work practice and experience of working on safeguarding cases, some of which are complex, including preparing for and presenting evidence in court.  Experience of managing case workers who deliver social work with children, young people and their parents/families with safeguarding issues.  Experience of permanency planning and supporting practitioners to ensure thorough and thoughtful care planning for children. Experience of managing people, performance and professional development to get the best out of the team.  Strong awareness of risk management and safeguarding in the context of social care including legislation, policy and procedures related to responsibilities.

Internal start dates:  Start dates will be agreed once all pre-transfer checks are completed. The usual transfer date will be in line with employees contracts unless agreement is reached between the existing and new line manager.
