This key role in the Theatres, Anaesthetics and Critical Care Directorate (TAC) is to maintain and develop the Theatre schedules on behalf of all of Planned Care (18 Theatres currently) as well as the ‘back office’ function which involves building the sessions in our EPR (Cerner).

This role will liaise with colleagues from IM&T, BI, Theatres, Anaesthetics, surgical specialities and operational teams ensuring the schedule is accurate and reflective of the work completed and to be undertaken.

This role is an integral function in effectively planning and scheduling the trusts elective and emergency theatre planning. The theatre coordinator will act as the sole coordination between administrative and clinical colleagues, effectively flagging any issues that may occur in a timely manner

Main duties of the job

1. To liaise with the clinical Theatre Managers to support the ASM and SM with any requests relating to changes in theatre activity.
2. To support and maintain the Cerner workflows relating to Theatre Activity - Building and applying job plan templates, theatres, locations and changes to wait list form builds.
3. Assist in the correlation of theatre data and information for service speciality managers.
4. To cancel/update sessions due to surgeon’s annual/study leave/sickness, following an instruction from the ASM and SM.
5. Update both the excel Theatre Planner and the digital system; ‘front facing Cerner via a dedicated m-Page and the back office internal mechanisms, actioning any changes, such as sickness, annual leave, study leave etc...
