The Role

As a Graduate Payroll Assistant, you will help assist with the processing of payroll data whilst maintaining accuracy. You will help retrieve data from HMRC and interpret the information to produce updates into the payroll.


Key responsibilities:

  • Assist employees on their payroll queries and help produce files for changes to employees pay each month.
  • Provide support in data management and auditing.
  • Help process P45 data to load into the payroll – TUPE and EXPATs.
  • Understand and calculate different aspects of the pay on the pay slips.
  • Stay up to date with statutory changes such as maternity, sickness, adoption, parental leave.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders for payroll activities.
  • Build strong working relationships within the team as well as finance and HR BPs.
  • Audit pay slips to ensure that the information is accurate.
  • Follow GDPR & other Data Protection laws and legislation.


Your Profile

Key skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Knowledge of office management; MS Office Programmes (MS Excel and MS Word, MS Teams).
  • Good understanding of SAP Payroll.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal with ability to think analytically and concern for quality of delivery.
  • Strong organisational skills with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Ability to identify data trends and build good working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to be a team player who collaboratively strives to achieve the common goal.
  • Ability to adapt by embracing change to improve the quality and effectiveness of work.
