Business Development Director - Leading Direct Marketing Agency

c£80,000 + commission - Watford - hybrid working


AW Media are delighted to be partnering with this leading DM agency who provide data, insight and media planning solutions. They partner with blue chip brands and exciting start-ups to plan campaigns effectively and ensure they target the right audience to maximise performance and analyse results to optimise future campaigns for growth.


Due to continued expansion and growth they are seeking an additional Business Development Director to join their sales team. You will be responsible for winning and growing revenue across a diverse range of industry sectors, helping their clients achieve success from their marketing campaigns.


This role offers hybrid working - 3 days a week in the office, 2 days working remotely.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Outreach to new prospects or existing clients you already know in the marketplace
  • Understanding the needs of a prospect
  • Developing and building relationships with key prospects and providing solutions to meet their data-driven marketing needs
  • Writing detailed and compelling proposals
  • Building an effective pipeline and forecasting accurately
  • Continual communication with the Account Management and Acquisition teams to ensure campaigns are delivered within agreed SLA's
  • Striving to achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets


Skills & Experience:

  • Proven track record in a New Business/Business Development role
  • Able to demonstrate a structured sales process and the ability to close deals
  • Previous experience in a Direct Marketing or Data Agency environment would be advantageous, but certainly not essential. We will consider candidates from different backgrounds including agency and client direct. Of vital importance is the ability to develop new business
  • Consultative sales approach and account management experience
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Strong negotiation and proposal writing skills
