We’re looking for a motivated and proactive Compliance Coordinator to join this busy City Law Firm.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make a real impact in a fast-paced legal environment. You’ll be working closely with the Head of Compliance and Senior Compliance Advisor, providing essential support across a variety of compliance and regulatory tasks.
What You'll Be Doing:
In this role, you'll be providing key administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the Compliance Department. While the tasks listed below give you an idea of your responsibilities, no two days will be the same, and you may be asked to take on other duties as the business needs evolve.
- Administrative Support: Handling general admin tasks like filing, photocopying, scanning, printing, and post distribution, as well as answering phone calls and managing communications.
- Diary & Meeting Coordination: Organising meetings, assisting with scheduling and calendar management for the Head of Compliance and Senior Compliance Advisor.
- Lexcel Support: Assisting with the Lexcel Independent File Reviews and maintaining Lexcel accreditation by supporting the Annual Maintenance process.
- Training Coordination: Helping manage the firm’s online training programme, identifying staff who may still need to complete their training, and tracking compliance with training requirements.
- Compliance Policies & Registers: Updating and maintaining compliance registers, policies, and procedures, ensuring everything is kept current.
- Accreditations & Audits: Supporting with annual CQS re-accreditation and participating in internal audits and compliance reviews.
- Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Support: Assisting with Know Your Customer (KYC) checks, performing due diligence on new and existing clients, and conducting AML/CDD across a variety of sectors.
- Ongoing Monitoring & Risk Assessment: Conducting conflict checks, enhanced due diligence, and sanctions monitoring, and identifying any potential legal or commercial conflicts.
- PEP Checks: Conducting checks to determine whether a client is a Politically Exposed Person (PEP).
- Ad Hoc Support: Assisting with general research projects and day-to-day compliance matters, and providing a friendly, professional point of contact for compliance queries.
About You:
We’re looking for someone with the following experience and qualities:
- Educational Background: Degree level (or equivalent) education is preferred.
- Experience in a Law Firm: You’ll need at least 2 years of experience working in a law firm, ideally with knowledge of compliance functions.
- Lexcel Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ experience with Lexcel standards.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiar with PDF applications such as Adobe and pdfDocs.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Self-Starter: Able to work independently, manage your own time, and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Team Player: Reliable, approachable, and flexible—someone who thrives in a team setting and can stay calm under pressure.
- Research Skills: Ability to carry out thorough research and produce accurate, timely reports.
- A Growth Mindset: Eager to learn, grow, and take on new challenges as they arise.
