Our client is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual for the role of New Business Intake Manager in the Business Intake & Conflicts Department. This is an exciting opportunity to assist attorneys with their compliance duties in a fast-paced environment while contributing to the success of the Firm.


This position offers the opportunity to assist in processing requests to ensure they meet Firm policies and business requirements. The role is critical to identifying potential risk, communicating potential resolution, and securing the necessary approvals as part of the new business process and ongoing obligations to Firm clients.


The ideal individual will have a collaborative mindset, an acute attention to detail, work well under pressure, and understand the meaning of exceptional customer service. This position will require critical thinking, strong judgment and decision-making skills to be able to identify the potential issues with bringing on new business to the Firm. Training will be provided.


Key responsibilities:

  • Be the first port of call for any conflicts queries raised by the wider team
  • Assist the Head of the department as well as the Director of Compliance in driving the delivery of a quality service to the business.
  • Day-to-day line management of Senior Analysts and Analysts including training
  • Being a key decision-maker for the team in relation to appropriateness of client due diligence and compliance with applicable regulations
  • Review conflict analysis, retention letters and waivers to determine screening requirements.
  • Draft and circulate screening memos.
  • Respond to inquiries from the Office of the General Counsel, Risk Management leadership and attorneys with accurate information in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work directly with the Office of the General Counsel to establish screening policies and procedures.
  • Work with attorneys and IT to investigate and resolve timekeeper file or document access issues.
  • Develop a broad subject matter expertise regarding screening requirements and the Firm's policies regarding such requirements.


Skills and Experience:

  1. An understanding of conflict of interest concepts, general law firm business rules, relational databases and grammar rules is required.
  2. The successful candidate will have good knowledge of applicable AML legislation
  3. An acute attention to detail, as well as the ability to identify and analyze problems and find solution
  4. Good people management experience
  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills,
  6. A master's degree and knowledge of the legal industry and law firms are preferred.
  7. A bachelor's degree is required.
