Whether you have already started your journey in the green energy industry or have aspirations to move into the sector, Ocean Winds have an opportunity for a Settlement and Reporting Specialist in our Commercial Asset Management Team to help manage its expanding offshore windfarm portfolio in Scotland. Specifically, the operational 950MW Moray East Offshore Windfarm and the under-construction 860MW Moray West Offshore Windfarm.


Reporting to the Senior Commercial Asset Manager, the main responsibilities of the role include:

• Managing timely settlement processes related to our offshore wind projects, including PPAs and CFDs.

• Monitoring and reporting of all revenue streams.

• Preparation of project processes for commercial asset management.

• Supporting the Asset Director in delivering budgets and business plans.

• Working with the Operations and Asset Management teams to deliver asset value.

• Wider Commercial Asset Management support of Ocean Winds development pipeline.


Main Accountabilities:

• Working closely with the external stakeholders (IMServe, Elexon, PPA Offtakers, LCCC) oversee daily settlement operations for offshore wind energy transactions to ensure timely reconciliation.

• Validate invoices and resolve discrepancies promptly.

• Ensure that all data flows and forecasts from the asset that are necessary to support commercial operations are maintained.

• Ensure the settlement process is clearly understood by stakeholders and executed correctly in management systems.

• Analyse settlement data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.

• Prepare regular reports for management and stakeholders and provide the input data for commercially related key performance indicators and reporting metrics.

• Assist in the development and implementation of automated settlement solutions.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation for commercial asset management activities.

• Assist in audits and regulatory reviews by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations.

• Create effective external working relationships with key stakeholders involved in the provision of the PPA’s, Investment Contracts, CFDs, and any other related commercial contracts.


Required Academic and Professional Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in at least one of the following areas is required:

o Data analysis and reporting in energy sector

o Trading/contract settlement in the energy sector

• Educated to degree level, preferably in STEM subject.


Required Knowledge:

Demonstrable knowledge in the following areas is required:

• The UK electricity market processes including energy settlement.

• The UK CfD regime and PPA contract market.


Knowledge of the following areas is desirable:

• Capacity market, ancillary services and REGOs.

• Key industry frameworks such as BSC and CUSC.


Required Skills/Competencies:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to manage large data sets and present information in a clear and professional manner with an attention to detail.

• Proficiency in financial software, PowerBI and Excel.

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• An understanding of commercial activities and processes with a proactive approach to value creation, and risk mitigation.

• A demonstrable ability to communicate across all levels of the business and to build effective external relationships.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.


Location: Location in Edinburgh with possibility of flexible working arrangements and travel to operational sites and other stakeholders’ offices required from time to time.
