Management Accountant | International Luxury Retail Brand | London (hybrid)


Harmonic are delighted to be working with a globally recognised luxury accessories and fashion brand in their search for a Management Accountant to join their growing team.


Having hit the £400m mark in 2023, our client are setting their sights on further international expansion, bucking recent trends in retail. Already a household name domestically, they aspire to become a go-to name within their niche globally in 2024 and beyond, with 15 stores across the continent and a desire to further embed themselves into the American market.


Focussing on the international and wholesale side of the business, which experienced a 200% increase in turnover last year, you will be responsible for the production of management accounts and coordinating the month-end process, while overseeing a Finance Assistant. Reporting to the Finance Manager, with room for further professional growth, our client have a track record of internal mobility and promotions.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing management accounts for the board
  • Conducting variance analysis from cost-centre reports
  • Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and month-end journals
  • Managing a Finance Assistant and overseeing transactional finance
  • Partnering with the wholesale team and other senior stakeholders
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
  • Identifying areas of financial risk
  • Finding ways to improve efficiency
  • Supporting with the year-end audit and treasury reports


Essential criteria

  • 2 years of experience independently coordinating management accounts
  • Experience in a medium-large product-based business
  • Studying for ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or qualified by experience
  • Exposure to multiple different currencies
  • Willingness to challenge key stakeholders and processes
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for luxury retail


Desirable criteria

  • Background in luxury retail
  • Finalist with ACA, ACCA or CIMA


Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 + study support

Location: Central London (3 days in office)
