ABOUT THE ROLE


The Head of Strategy and Policy sits in our consultancy practice and plays a key role in the leadership and delivery of complex projects, by:


  • managing delivery teams of Managers, Senior Analysts, Analysts and Interns across the business to deliver high profile and complex project work on-time and to budget;
  • handling senior clients and stakeholders and maintaining effective strategic relationships;
  • leading responses to tenders and other business development opportunities; and,
  • leading, on occasion, research projects delivered through our in-house think tank

This role is part of the overall senior management team at our company, involved in decision-making on the development of the whole organisation. Reporting to our Director of Strategy and Policy, the role has line management responsibilities and plays a crucial role in the success of the business.


We are seeking a talented and experienced individual to fulfil this role.


Our existing heads of service have led a range of ground-breaking projects over the last 12 months which help to make communities safer including :


  • implementing a flagship Home Office policy to reduce serious violence across England and Wales by providing advisory services to all 43 police force areas, testing their readiness to support the serious violence duty and providing support to local agencies to improve this where required.
  • the design of a new operating model for the Crown Prosecution Service as part of their 5 year Victims Transformation Programme aimed at improving victim experiences with the CPS for in excess of 420,000 prosecutions a year and contributing to a better experience across the criminal justice system
  • developing for the National Police Chiefs Council the new 4Ps strategy (Protect, Pursue, Prevent, Prepare) to help forces consistently tackle violence against women and girls (VAWG) and conducting for the College of Policing the first national analysis of the threat VAWG poses to public safety
  • providing unique new analysis of police data to identify neighbourhoods across Britain where crimes are never solved to inform Channel 4 Dispatches documentary ‘Britain's unsolved crimewave’ (July 2024)
