What's the Job?
We're looking for a Commercial General Manager for our ibis Styles Birmingham NEC and Airport Hotel.
ibis Styles Birmingham NEC & Airport caters to a diverse customer base, from weary travellers to conference delegates, and even the dog lovers and prized pooches of Crufts. As Commercial General Manager, youll be laser-focussed on driving and delivering profitable revenue, optimising the customer mix and monitoring and reporting on the financial performance of the hotel. Youll develop commercial strategies, maintain strong relationships with key clients and contacts, understand your local market, and represent the hotel and build its reputation in the local community. In the absence of the Operations General Manager, youll take responsibility for the operational performance of the hotel.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Your Role: Devising and driving the commercial strategy, financial performance and reputation of our 166-room hotel in Birmingham
- The Place: A bustling hotel with a diverse customer base, busy F&B operation and popular M&E facilities
- Your Mission: Maximise the commercial performance of the hotel

What You Need:
Experience: 3+ years as a General Manager
Bonus Points: Experience opening branded hotels and knowledge of Accor systems
Focus: Driving profitable revenue and commercial performance
Money Matters: Meet budget targets while managing costs
Numbers Know-How: Experience with budgets, business plans, and forecasts
Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Opera, and POS systems
Leadership: Top-notch collaboration and communication skills

A driven, commercially-minded leader with 3+ years in a GM role. You should know your way around all areas of hotel operations but have a particular passion for commercial strategy. We want someone highly motivated with a passion to win.
