This is an exciting opportunity for a Technical Manager to join a world-leading provider of vertical access equipment. This role involves managing and further developing a focused Technical Support offering that delivers value to the UK business and client base. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding the business’s knowledge base and understanding of both new and existing technologies, driving key objectives, and ensuring efficient and cost-effective special and refurbishment projects across all divisions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organise, and deliver technical support activities to meet customer and business needs, including monitoring and implementing design/application engineering tools, hardware, project licenses, product support, problem-solving, and project management.
  • Recruit, assess, develop, and manage staff in line with company policies and resource planning requirements, with a focus on succession planning and business risk mitigation.
  • Communicate health and safety (H&S) objectives, ensure continued H&S performance, and provide resources and training in line with the company's H&S Management System.
  • Support the formulation and development of project programs for special refurbishment projects in collaboration with sales teams and divisional project managers.
  • Manage customer relations and expectations, supporting their technical activities in line with brand values.
  • Lead and deliver continuous improvements in technical support operations, focusing on quality, safety, cost, and efficiency.
  • Support the development and adherence to the company's Quality Management System.
  • Ensure effective scope and utilisation of applicable digitalisation tools to improve connected machines, mentoring and training customers and staff in new technologies.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of the Technical Team.
  • Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings with other company functions to support business development.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must be comfortable with heights.
  • Experience in mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering is essential.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a related engineering discipline.
  • Proven industry experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge and expertise.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
