Role - Structural Repair Engineer - Stress

Type - Permanent

Job Description:

Required Skills


• Experience in Stress analysis of Aircraft structural components.

• Experience in first principles mechanical analysis via hand calculation and industry standard methodologies, and repair stress analysis, including durability and damage tolerance

• Strong in technical concepts (Structural design and stress analysis incl. F&DT)

• Able to communicate and understand key design engineering considerations

• Knowledge of design and sizing of aircraft primary structural components and parts.

• Able to collaborate and work independently when needed.

• Ability to liaise/negotiate with Design, Fatigue.

• Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, set objectives and prioritize to time, cost and quality.

• Technically competent with the principles used to generate compliance data.

• A Team player demonstrating a positive and collaborative attitude.

• Good interpersonal skills, flexibility and adaptability and Good communication skills, continuous learning aptitude and proactive to define one’s contribution to the role/requirement


Activities to perform

• Create high quality integrated and certified engineering solutions for the aircraft

• Carry out calculations to assess design solutions using standard hand and methods. Create, compile and co-ordinate engineering documentation to achieve valid technical data for repair.

• Liaise with Design and other appropriate departments to come up with optimum design solutions for the airliner customer.

• Liaise with Principal and Senior Stress engineers in order to ensure that methods, assumptions, data and procedures reflect on-going developments.

• Ensure, with the relevant technical signature delegations, that the final repair solution brings the aircraft back into an airworthy condition.

• Identify and support local improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through process, method and tools improvements ensuring alignment with respective focal points.

• Ensure all tasks and activities required for Repair Engineering are correctly planned, monitored and executed to achieve customer time scales.

• With good communication skills, provide responses for routine queries, giving advice and guidance as required and Customer Services on repair matters.

• With Repair Design be a member of an integrated engineering team, ensuring its strategy, policy and direction is maintained.


Preferred Skills

• Experience of performing stress justification of aircraft repair solutions..

• Knowledge of Aircraft Static stress and fatigue Stress manuals and tools.
