ABOUT THE ROLE
The Head of Events and Special Projects will be responsible for planning, organising, and executing a diverse range of events across various venues. This includes managing key seasonal events, brand collaborations, and private, high-profile functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In-House Event Planning & Execution
- Lead the planning and execution of key in-house events, such as opening parties, seasonal events (Halloween, Christmas, New Year's Eve), and brand collaborations.
Supplier & Brand Collaboration
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, brands, and external partners.
- Negotiate partnerships with brands for promotional collaborations, product launches, or sponsorship opportunities.
- Work closely with suppliers to secure the best deals and budgets for events.
Guest Event Management
- Plan, organise, and oversee exclusive private hires, corporate bookings, and high-profile guest dinners and events.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients looking to host special events, offering a personalised service to ensure each occasion exceeds expectations.
- Coordinate all aspects of guest-driven events, from bespoke menus to entertainment and venue customisation.
Financial & Operational Management
- Develop budgets for each event, managing costs effectively to ensure maximum profitability.
- Provide post-event analysis, including attendance figures, profitability, and feedback.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, licensing requirements, and other legal aspects of event management.
Key Skills and Attributes
- Strong background in event management, ideally within the hospitality or pub industry.
- Experience planning and executing both large-scale in-house events and intimate, high-profile guest events.
- Strong network of suppliers, brands, and entertainment providers.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to multitask and manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation and partnership-building skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and meet financial targets.
- A creative thinker with attention to detail, ensuring events run smoothly and offer a memorable experience.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in event management, particularly within the hospitality or pub sector.
- Experience working with high-profile clients and managing exclusive events is a strong advantage.
- Willingness to travel.
