Own and run trains and rail terminals. Heavy lifting equipment, abnormal loads, hotels, industrial logistics, automotive logistics and transportation, as well as a network of washing stations, are examples of diverse company interests.


The Business Development Manager role, which is currently open, will represent Group Services in the Transport and Distribution Division and more particularly the three UK-based subsidiaries.

You will collaborate directly on certain commercial plans and goals with the MDs.

GCA Domestic LTD is an expert in the road transportation of hazardous liquids and gases within the domestic market.

GCA Transport LTD is a multimodal transportation and distribution company that serves the food and chemical industries via train, barges and short sea shipping using ISOTank containers.

Simon Gibson LTD is a road powder tanker company that operates both domestically and abroad in the industrial sectors.

Each individual Subsidiaries operate their owned assets and drivers and get the backing of the group in Europe.


MISSION:

This role is responsible for developing new sales, meeting personal and group targets and managing the day-to-day sales opportunities. This in close liaison with the MD and the operational teams to successfully deliver sales and services, to customers in the accountable areas.


Your Key Accountabilities:

-You plan and prioritise personal sales activities and customer/prospect contacts towards

achieving agreed business targets, including costs and sales - especially managing personal time and productivity

-You plan and manage personal business portfolio/territory/business according to an agreed

market development strategy, including Key Account Plans

-You manage product/service mix, pricing and margins according to agreed aims.

-You maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison, to optimise quality of service, business growth, and customer’s satisfaction

-You manage and coordinate tenders supported by the operational teams, format the responses and present solutions

-You monitor and report on market and competitor activities to provide relevant reports and

information.

-You communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to

facilitate the development of profitable transverse business and sustainable relationships.

-You attend and present at external customer meetings and internal commercial meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development.

-You have full P&L responsibility for all customer’s accounts quoted and managed commercially.

-You liaise closely with our customers to ensure effective and regular commercial communications

-You ensure that key performance indicators are provided on time and in full.

-You help developing our strategy by identifying new markets and or potential acquisitions to fit with the group growth plan

-You ensure we have an adequate sales pipeline to achieve corporate targets



PROFILE:

-You have a good knowledge and experience of the road transport industry in bulk tankers; it requires a highly professional and confident person with the ability to support the implementation of a defined sales strategy.

-You have had to manage accounts in the chemical, petrochemical, mineral and/or food industry.

-You are fully conversant with technical approach linked to hazardous goods and bulk transports.

-You have excellent verbal communication skill and the ability to use your own initiative.

-You will be persuading and negotiating with the ambition and desire to succeed at profitable level.

-You are a team player and have the ability to federate.
