While this is predominantly a corporate communications role, we are looking for someone who understands the policy environment and is comfortable devising and executing on stakeholder engagement. You will work in integrated teams that span media relations, social & digital marketing, issues and reputation management, public affairs and financial communications.


The right candidate will have a genuine interest in UK business, a track record of managing programmes for clients in these sectors, and a solid network and understanding of media titles and journalists relevant to the sector. Everyone at Instinctif is involved in new business and you’ll want to be hungry to be part of the process in winning new clients.


Duties/responsibilities

  • Overseeing account teams as day-to-day point of contact for our clients, ensuring high quality, responsive client service
  • Setting the core deliverables of the account, such as a workback plan and content calendar, and managing a junior team to maintain that
  • Supporting the Directors to ensure retention and growth of the account, including collaborating on programme strategy
  • Working to develop long-term relationships with your clients while identifying opportunities for you and senior colleagues to add further value to their business
  • Ensuring delivery of a scoped programme of work to agreed KPIs
  • Conceiving creative themes, campaigns and content ideas that can secure coverage
  • Using your network to secure media and stakeholder meetings for clients
  • Overseeing, and drafting yourself, press releases, articles, blog posts, social media updates, and podcasts to a high standard for clients
  • Analysing data to pitch feature ideas and drafting research reports for clients
  • Supporting and progressing new business opportunities and pitch documents including development of relationships with potential clients
  • Identifying and attending events for personal networking, and with / on behalf of clients
  • Building your personal profile on behalf of Instinctif through industry thought leadership and social media


Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years experience working in a successful consultancy or equivalent in-house position
  • Strong understanding of the real estate and construction sector and related areas such as energy and financial services
  • Good network of contacts in media, business and industry
  • Passionate about communications
  • Excellent writing skills, including for digital
  • Creative and analytical with an interest in data and research techniques
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with colleagues, clients and media
  • Proactive team player

Location and hours

  • Our London office is based in the heart of the City of London on Gresham Street and travel to meetings and events around the UK when needed.
  • Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week between 09:00 and 17:30; we embrace flexible working but expect the majority of your week to be worked in the office / client premises, recognising the importance of in-person collaboration
  • Irregular hours and overtime work is a characteristic of our industry and the nature of our client projects and will be expected to meet client requirements and project deadlines
