The role

As a Digital Account Director within the Digital Activation team, you will lead the digital output and strategy of several key accounts with support from a team of six digital specialists of part of a Pod covering clients in a range of verticals.


This role involves strategising, planning, managing workloads, quality checking, and serving as the primary Digital contact for processes, optimisations, and queries. You will also have responsibilities including training and upskilling team members, onboarding new starters, and maintaining Digital Excellence across the accounts you oversee.


Reporting to the Head of Digital Performance, this role also offers the opportunity to contribute to broader agency projects, enhancing the overall Agency Experience we provide to our clients whilst also supporting on initiatives such as product development and new business.


Your remit will encompass all Digital Channels, including Search, Social, Programmatic, Video, and elements of OOH and CTV.


About you

  • A strong grasp of management: with the ability to tailor your leadership style to different individual strengths and challenges, acting as a mentor to Account Managers.
  • Omnichannel experience: to be able to plan and lead the execution of Paid Search, Social, Display and Video across a wide array of platforms and taking the initiative to learn, even if the platform is unfamiliar.
  • Stakeholder manager: collaborating internally with other teams, forging strong partnerships with both clients and media owners alike to strive for the best results and challenge where necessary.
  • Full-funnel expertise: with a proven record of planning and optimising towards KPIs from Awareness to Performance, and everything in between.
  • Clear knowledge of the media landscape: to connect the dots and provide insightful analyses, whilst equipping the team to do the same.
  • Attention to detail: to facilitate efficient but comprehensive reviews of the team’s work with the ability to lead on Responses to Briefs and Post-Campaign Analyses.
  • Process-oriented: to maintain and champion ways of working to set the foundation for Digital Excellence across all that you and the team do.
  • Commercially minded: with an understanding of how the agency makes money, identifying areas to cross-sell and grow revenue.
  • Creative analytical skillset: to not only ingest and interrogate data, but to then distill complex information into communication tailored to a variety of stakeholders with differing media knowledge.
  • Managing time and priorities effectively: to juggle the responsibilities across multiple clients with their own contrasting priorities.


Key responsibilities

  • Planning & strategizing: taking an active role from the Meeting of the Minds in interrogating the brief, having the confidence to ask the right questions, feeding in research, and guiding the team to feed into all elements of planning with your role to create the overall narrative of the plan.
  • Team management: Conducting 1-1s with the Account Managers in guiding their development, through providing feedback, challenging their growth through stretch goals and supporting their prioritisation and workloads. On a daily basis, this includes leading standups and delegating to the team.
  • Client meetings: working closely with Client Leadership to maintain discussions on ways of working with clients, leading on audits, organising immersion days and being a senior Digital Presence across ad hoc meetings.
  • Finance: instilling best practice for timely reconciliation across the team and training them to do so without errors. Having an eye on client profitability by assessing team resource with commercial agreements to ensure these are being fulfilled appropriately.
  • Day-to-day team: acting as a sounding board for optimisations, new ideas and analyses. Conducting larger pieces of client analysis requiring data analytics skills to further progress their goals, with the ability to challenge their views.
  • Innovation: proactively seeking new opportunities to for both client and agency new initiatives across our Tech Stack and beyond. Converting new business opportunities with existing clients and new.
  • Measurement: Working with the data and behave teams to identify the methods of elevating measurement beyond the standard metrics, whether through Econometrics, Lift Studies, Attribution or more.
