Birmingham UK, West Midlands, United Kingdom OX Seven Talent Partners Full time

Health and Safety Officer - Birmingham

If you have a passion for health and safety, people and don’t mind the banter on-site, this could be the next move you’ve been waiting for to take your career to the next level.

An opportunity has arisen for an Health and Safety Officer to join the team in the new Birmingham office. My client are one of the leading decarbonisation firms in the UK, pushing the design, development and delivery of offsite-prefabricated renewable energy systems for the commercial marketplace. The company has doubled in size in the past 12 months and is predicted to do the same in the coming 12-18 months, so this is a great chance to get on-board.

Ideally, you will 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, but 1-2 years of experience of UK health and safety legislation could put you in a good position. You will be providing general support and assistance to the H&S Manager and general department, ensuring safe practice and environmental compliance on all sites controlled by the firm. This will be done in partnership with site teams and all relevant staff, so an ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels is essential.

Experience of working in a construction or M&E environment would be useful, but not essential. You’ll have undertaken audits, have experience of lifting operations and associated hazards, experience of creating RAMS for complex works and a good knowledge of health and safety aspects, including legislation and technical standards. You’ll be a strong character, capable of challenging those who flaunt rules and guidance, with the ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative.

The package for this role is negotiable and will be more than competitive for the right candidate, and full details will be provided at application stage. Benefits include 30 days holiday, company pension, annual bonus, life assurance and organised social events to name a few. This is an office-based position working 40 hours a week; Mon – Thur 08:00am –17:00pm, Fri 08:00am – 15:00pm.

We appreciate this is only a snapshot of the role, so if you are interested and want to know more, call me, send me a message (Richard Lambert on LinkedIn), DM, or whatever is easiest. We encourage anyone who feels they are suitable to apply. We love seeing diversity in our applicants. We use specialist technology to ensure there are no gender biases in our adverts.

Every applicant will receive a response. We sometimes make mistakes and miss things from CVs, so you will be given an opportunity to receive feedback and discuss the role in more detail if you feel necessary.
