The service you will work in….

You will be leading on the Children & Families Programme to help us respond strategically to higher-level support and safeguarding needs emerging from the Covid-19 and cost-of-living crises.

As well as ensuring that this improved service can be delivered in-refuge, locally, via our team of Children & Family Workers and in partnership with in-house Childrens Wellbeing Practitioners and external mental health specialists. You will also be leading on implementing new tiered service model for supporting children and families in DA refuges across London. This will strengthen our support and outcomes for children and families affected by DA in Hestias refuges across London.

This expert role will also boost the resilience of our client facing C&FW team and ensure continuity in partnership working and support for children.

A day in this role looks like….

As a Children & Families Service Manager at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Domestic Abuse Service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.

A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to dobe responsible for are:
● Develop new processes and implementation plan to introduce new tiered support model.
● Create the framework for the provision of C & F Workers and deliver a comms and engagement plan to embed it across the organisation.
● Lead and manage a team of Children & families Workers across Hestia refuges.
● Responsibility for ensuring delivery of the C&F programme which includes; A programme of therapeutic activities for children, Parent support groups and parenting skills activities, Delivery of Stronger Families 12 week programme
● Develop positive relationships with stakeholders including Hestias Domestic Abuse Service Managers, other internal teams and external partners
● Multi-agency working with partner agencies including MASH and other statutory services to assess and manage risk.
● Continuously review processes and support across all areas of the C&FW programme, with a particular focus on safeguarding,trauma-informed practice and creating opportunities for successful outcomes.
● Provide an excellent standard of support and ensure that C&FWs contribute to, and work within support plans, safety plans and risk assessments
● Provide Children & Family Workers with expert guidance and case management support, especially for children presenting with more complex needs and facing delays in access to specialist statutory-funded services.
● Work with Head of Therapeutic Services and others to triage allocate (sessional) specialist support in ways that has greatest impact for the children in our refuges.

● Child Safeguarding Level 4 qualification and or a Social work qualification.
● IDVA OCNLR Level 3 Certificate in Domestic Abuse: Prevention and Early Intervention.
● Experience in child social work or similar child-focused expertise.
● Experience in Domestic Abuse services or other crisistrauma response services.
● Safeguarding Lead in either a DA or ChildrensYoung Peoples setting.
● Multi-agency working and developing working protocols, referral routes and service level agreements.
● Experience in delivering training, coaching and upskilling teams.
● In depth knowledge of child safeguarding and contextual safeguarding.
● Line management and coaching skills.
● Knowledge of childhood development and impact of trauma.
● Ability to work with children and families who have experienced domestic abuse and trauma to get the best possible outcome.
● Ability to work in a user-led, assets focused way, ensuring that children and families are at the centre of support and risk management.
