The Role:

The Data Strategy, Capability and Oversight Team (DSCO) sits at the heart of Border Force’s transformation journey and is responsible for setting the direction for our strategic approach to data including the future operating model. Our teams also deliver the business-critical functions of obtaining and quality assuring data from external partners to support frontline and intelligence colleagues and ensuring that Border Force is legally compliant in the collection, storage, exploitation, and disposal of data.

The role is within the Data Acquisition and Quality Team. DatAQ is the front door for all passenger, crew and freight data from industry, carriers, trade partners and other Governments Departments. In addition DatAQ works with government and industry partners to acquire new data flows for Border Force ensuring that data is obtained legally and to an appropriate standard.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain appropriate systems to enable effective planning and scheduling
  • Establish and maintain project controls and prepare project performance reports
  • Manage potential risk areas, working with risk managers and escalating as appropriate
  • Manage professional relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and act as lead point of contact as required.


Person Specification:

You will have the following skills or proven experience:

  • A proven track record of delivering projects and initiatives
  • be able to demonstrate strong planning and organising skills combined with the ability to balance conflicting and changing demands
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and able to work constructively in complex environments.
  • Experience of working in a changing environment, planning and collaborating effectively to manage workload and meet delivery deadlines.
