This is a hybrid role that will require travel, as necessary, to our Glasgow site for client facing responsibilities such as technical conversations around the products as well as UAT testing.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Reporting into the Service Delivery Managers, you will oversee the installation, configuration and support of relevant software and applications for our long standing public sector client. You will act as an application support team technical expert for each of the services and applications within the responsibility of their Application support group. The Team Lead will keep themselves up to date on the product road map, developments within the defined products, issues, how the business uses the services and applications, limitations, Infrastructure and external requirements.
This role offers the opportunity to utilise your mix of technical and people management skills as you will ensure that support staff (UK and offshore) have the required skill sets in order to provide a comprehensive support service for the applications within these groups. This will include providing peer to peer training and arranging courses where necessary. The objective is for the Support staff to be in a position to support the service and applications using their knowledge, skills, available documentation and colleagues to support the service and applications without your direct involvement.
Key Activities
• Managing a larger team or group of teams, balancing workload and developing capability.
• Investigating and resolving complex or wide-ranging support incidents, including those of critical business impact to the client
• Designing and managing the implementation of complex and wide-ranging change requests.
• Has the ability to develop a deep understanding of the client’s business and how the service contributes to their business outcomes.
• Managing the escalation of 3rd party issues and requests.
• Leading innovation across the team

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
We’re looking for a range of the following skills and experience:
• Prioritises and manages dependencies; delivers team's work to agreed schedules; reports progress.
• Leads team meetings and fosters knowledge sharing which develops the team.
• Demonstrates the ability to adhere to standards and requirements
• Trusted to engage technically with the client.
• Proposes solutions to client pain that address business and technical needs.
• Able to negotiate and influence to reach consensus in challenging situations.
• Any previous sector experience in local authority applications is beneficial but not essential
