Morgan Hunt is delighted to support a public sector client in their search for a Mechanical Technical Manager r on a temporary basis. You will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of mechanical engineering projects within the organisation. This role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical solutions and coordinating with other departments to meet project goals and deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record in project management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and technicians.
  • Provide technical guidance and support on mechanical engineering projects.
  • Ensure the implementation of industry best practices and standards.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of mechanical engineering projects.
  • Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary to ensure successful completion.
  • Review and approve mechanical designs and technical drawings.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop innovative and efficient solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new projects.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet required specifications.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of engineering processes and outputs.
  • Address any technical issues or discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety and ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols.


Qualifications and experience:

  • Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Excellent project management skills, with experience using project management software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
